Farewell....

i was asked to design farewell cards for my fellow NSF Colleague who will be ORDING soon in this month july ( in a few days times), i drew cartoon interpretation of them and something simple for the card. hope they like it. All the best to them, as they step into the next step of their life after NS. as for me, i will be disrupting my service, but they still tell me to include myself in since i will be leaving around same time as them, considering myself early ORD haha... so why not? might as well draw a version of myself for fun haha. yes, i will be going university to study soon. hope everything will goes well for me, since its been a long long time since i studied and took exams. here i come, Uni life....

CG Overdrive 2009

Went to the CG Overdrive 2009 yesterday at Singapore Expo, since i do not have the money to pay for the conference all that which is 400 plus dollars -_-, i decided to go and see as a visitor instead.
Went with a bunch of friends who are interested, we went to see some art display where some of the CG art display there was really good, some of it you can actually find from the CGSociety website. Some companies and schools were there as well. Saw Digipen, Sheridan College, Lasalle, Lucasfilm animation, FZD school of design etc. some of the companies there were recruiting and schools were looking for applicants who are interested to study in this line. its still quite abit of an eyeopener for me even though i am there as a vistor only.haha.

Did a new demoreel since the last one 2 years ago. just compile some 3d works i have done till now. As i am not very good with audio and music, my background music is from Driving the Top down by ramin Djawadi from Iron man. Software used are Autodesk Maya, Photoshop and After effects.

Shokudo dinner.

Went to Shokudo restaurant at the heeren, this place use to be Marche restaurant, the last time i eat there was like during secondary school days with my design and technology teacher, my english teacher as well as my whole class. didnt know they change to this shokudo restaurant that serves japanese food. guess time really flies. the photos are credit to my friend photographer (kirmu,) we were eating and at the same time having some fun taking photos and also took some really lame pictures, LOL. the food there is not bad,before you are bring to your seat, you are given a card to purchase any food that you see there, you will only pay at the end of your meal when you are about to leave.

Trial

can't seems to draw anything out of my head recently, was reading through imagine fx when i saw they were introducing a technique in creating characters design, whereby you make a series of drawings and playing with the images by duplicating it and rotating it and flipping it, you just keep shifting and playing with it, then you play around with the blending nodes, you may achieve something you cannot imagine in the end. so yah, i got this while trying out, maybe look like a ship or a character. haha it was fun when experimenting.

Bishamon

Did a 3D version of the samurai demon character from Darkstalkers name -Bishamon. i think this is most probably the first time ever i did a Fanart. Maya and Photoshop, some wireframe on 2nd image as well.

DMC Detroit Metal City

Another movie coming out that may interest you, a live action film based on a manga , circles around a shy and gentle boy name Negishi Soichi who dreams of joining a trendy pop band, but instead he got trick into joining a Death metal band named “Detroit Metal City” and takes the name of Johannes Krauser II as the lead singer, he hates the music and his role but somehow he is quite talented at it. However when Negishi became krauser he became a totally different person. he finds himself trying to satisfy both worlds, being a devil in front of his fans and at the same time keeping a secret from his friends and family. Kenichi Matsuyama who acted as L in the deathnote AND THE L change the world movie acted in it. its really hilarious after looking at the trailer, this movie will be coming out in 19 march. you can try reading the manga too, it is very funny lol

Crusader Sketches

I admit i am not like those pros who can just sketch anything out on paper straight from their brains from scratch. i need REFERENCES before i can start designing, more importantly i need a specific direction as well if not i will be stoning there 0_o. did some thumbnail sketch to get a feel of how i want the character to look like, some sketches for the Character Design 01 theme from the wearezupid blog. you can go have a look if you are interested, will refine on one of it further and maybe do a 3d version of it too if i have the time, its been a while since my last 3d work. damn i need to work hard.

Dororo どろろ

Here to share a japanese film with you guys which i find it really interesting. ,japanese actress kou Shibasaki and actor Satoshi Tsumabuki acted in it. It was released think in the year 2007, 2 years ago, but who cares, no harm sharing, it's quite a nice movie actually, especially when there is a mix of genre - samurai, demons, Adventure, Historical, Supernatural, it is set on ancient japan during the Sengoku period. it was based on an old manga that could be dated back to the late 1960s.

The story actually goes like this quite sad also, " Before Hyakkimaru's birth his father, a greedy feudal lord, made a pact with 48 demon gods and let them each take a piece of his unborn son's body, in return for granting him great power.hyakkimaru was raised by a man who pick him up when he was abandoned by his own father, he gave him artificial limbs and teach him how to fight, so that when he defeats each of the 48 demons he comes across, he ragains each of 48 parts of his body that was taken away from him." found a trailer on youtube, i posted it as well and besides the movie song was also quite nice, by MR.Children. there was rumour that there may be a sequel in the making. this movie is quite inspirational since its gives such a historical feel.

Was browsing throught some youtube videos when i came across this. a teaser trailer of a movie film by IMAGI, Tetsujin 28 i wonder if It's the first manga to feature a giant robot and maybe the first to start the whole mecha love in manga and anime. is it? heres the offical website
